Should I consider a Blanket Purchase Agreement with Skelly and Loy?

A GSA Schedule blanket purchase agreement (BPA) is an excellent way for agencies to fulfill recurring needs quickly and cost effectively. When establishing a BPA, the customer must follow the ordering procedures described above, specifying in the RFQ that a BPA will be established. Once this selection process is completed and the BPA is established, orders are simply placed with the contractor against the BPA - no further documentation or justification is required.

Setting up a BPA allows you to establish a long-term relationship with us, takes advantage of quantity discounts, saves administrative time, and reduces paperwork. Other advantages of using blanket purchase agreements include the following:

  • a fair and reasonable pricing determination has already been established,
  • the requirement for competition has already been established, and
  • the contractual terms and conditions have already been established.

In the past, individual orders under a BPA could not exceed the maximum order limitation. Today, that is no longer the case. With the removal of the maximum order limitation, agencies are no longer restricted by any dollar limitations when placing orders under a BPA.
