TR 422 over Foster Branch Sugar Run

County Bridge Number 39 is a pin connected Pratt pony truss bridge.  Built in 1907 by the Montour Steel Company, it is a single span, 60’ long, 14’ wide bridge supported on original concrete abutments.  The upper chords and inclined end posts are built up box sections, and the diagonals and lower chords are eye bars.  There is an open grid steel deck that is supported by rolled floorbeams, stringers and riser beams.  An additional section has been bolted to the floorbeams and a single pipe rail is attached to each truss.  This bridge has been determined not eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
