Non-Profit Organizations

Skelly and Loy's Non-Profit Market clients include a wide range of both local and national watershed associations, conservation, and other non-profit organizations. These groups have focus and interest areas ranging from the protection of public and private citizen health and safety (i.e., reducing potential flood damage), stream water quality and riparian improvement and protection, and in-stream aquatic habitat enhancement for general as well as targeted aquatic species.

Relative to specific services offered to our watershed group clients, services routinely involve performing watershed and stream assessments and restoration designs. These efforts encompass performing stormwater analysis and management design, water quality sampling efforts, stream visual assessment protocols to determine overall stream health and condition, streambank stability and erodibility analyses, floodplain studies, hydrologic and hydraulic assessments and designs, stream competency, and sediment transport analysis.

Designs encompass a wide range of project objectives including natural stream restoration and habitat enhancement, low head dam removal, trail and recreational planning, and acid mine drainage (AMD) treatment and mitigation.

To provide a complete range of services to our watershed group clients, Skelly and Loy can also provide front-end grant writing and application support for project funding acquisition. Skelly and Loy also provides in-house specialized construction service capabilities for both natural stream channel restoration efforts and AMD treatment system construction.
