Biologic Agents Related To Animals

Roosting of bats and birds within and around buildings may pose risks related to the proliferation of Histoplasma capsulatum, the causative agent of Histoplasmosis. Also of concern are the Genera Cryptococcosis mold and Psittacosis bacteria. Skelly and Loy is experienced in evaluating pigeon and bat feces as well as organic building and landscaping materials outside of structures affected by these animal waste droppings. Health risks are typically evaluated by the collection and analysis of feces samples. A degreed biologist is staffed by Skelly and Loy to assist in evaluating biological contaminants (fungal, animal-related, etc.). Should the results of sample analysis indicate the presence of these organisms, Skelly and Loy can develop abatement plans and bid specifications.
