Hazard Mitigation Planning
Skelly and Loy has extensive experience in helping communities to mitigate the impacts of natural hazards; we have prepared over a dozen Hazard Mitigation Plans in the past few years alone. Our goal in preparing such plans is to increase the disaster resistance of a community so that its residents and businesses will be less susceptible to future exposure to disastrous events. In addition, preparing such plans in accordance with FEMA standards makes a municipality eligible to compete for pre-disaster funding that would not otherwise be available. Whether the local issue is flooding, severe storms, wildfires, landslides, subsidence, or other natural hazards, we use our extensive knowledge to work in preparing for any hazard event.
