Hydrology/Hydraulics Assessment and Design
Hydrology and hydraulic assessments are often times an integral component of any water resources-related project. Skelly and Loy's services include comprehensive evaluation of hydrology and design of hydraulic systems. Open channel sizing can be accomplished to handle the extreme design storm events and also to incorporate a smaller, normal flow channel design to maintain the natural equilibrium of channel stability and sediment transport. Hydrologic assessment and watershed modeling are often performed using HEC-RAS or (similar) techniques as part of the design process. Hydraulic modeling of streams and pipe systems identifies any critical areas within the project limits such as bridge crossings or culverts.
